About Us
What to Expect On Your Hunt
Once you arrive for your hunt, we’ll take the birds out to the field and place them while you and your friends get your gear together. After we return from placing the bird, we’ll make sure everyone is aware of all precautions before entering the field.
Depending on the area covered and the number of birds, we’ll release 2 or 3 dogs to kick off the hunt. We’ll trek into the woods and Jonathan will follow cues from the dogs, getting them to point out birds they’ve discovered. We’ll get you positioned and then we’ll flush the bird, allowing you a chance to get your shot.
We try to break the hunt into 2 sessions. This allows us to set birds in the field twice, ensuring more shots and more success. While we place the birds, you can take break, get some water and restock your ammo.
After the hunt is over, Jonathan will clean the birds and give each hunter their portion. Or, will prep the bird in case you want to get it mounted.

About Our Dogs
Our team of dogs have been trained to circle the field and point out birds. They point and wait until we’ve called them off. Once we flush and you hit your target, they’ll retrieve your trophy every time.
With 5 Llewellin Setter dogs at our disposal, they can run for hours, seeking out birds and never running out of gas. The Llewellin Setter descends directly from the longest existing breed of Setters in the world. The Llewellin was bred for it’s sense of smell and specifically for hunting game birds in our area. You’ll notice the difference in activity level, obedience and nose for birds when you’re with our dogs.
The bloodline of the Llewellin extends from the English Setter, but it’s traits were so unique that it became it’s own FDSB registered breed, which is the oldest hunting dog registry in the United States. Their hunting ability and natural desire to work close with hunters stands out from other breeds.
These trained setters were bred to make your hunt go smoothly. Take a look at our Llewellin Setters in action in our photo gallery.
